Christmas Celebration - Part 1

The first Christmas celebration of 2007 was last weekend, as Sofia and Annabella's Nana and Papa came into town, along with her aunts and uncles, to celebrate Christmas together. Sofia had lots of fun with her cousins, opening presents and visiting with family. Annabella... well, she just had fun sitting there and looking pretty, which she does so well.

Time Flies

Wow. It is so hard to believe that Sofia is two already. To celebrate, we had just a few folks over to share in her Minnie Mouse party. Sofia just loves (understatement) Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, so as you can see, everything was pink and Minnie - two of my favorite things. As you also can see, Sofia has a "thing" with people singing to her - she cries at the first sound of "Happy Birthday." Go figure.

This One's for My Mommy!

I often hear that my daughters look like their father or some other person other than me. However, while i was playing with annabella this afternoon i took a picture of her that really resembles me or me as a baby. At least i think she does, and that's all that matters, right? I know that nana (my mom) will be honest with me, so nana, let me know what you think!

Alone Time with Annabella

Sofia goes down for a nap around 1, so annabella and i get some alone time together until around 2. Today i took some pictures of that time together. She is getting a little better at the sitting up thing, even though she still flops over quite a bit. Every day she gets a little bigger and a little more darling. I can already see the wonderful differences in personalities between her and sofia and i can't wait to see her grow.

Playing with Sissy!

Sofia likes to come with me and get annabella out of her crib after her afternoon nap. Yesterday, she jumped in and the two of them layed beside each other and played for awhile. It's cute to see how much annabella realizes that sofia is her big sister and how much she loves to be where her big sister is. i can't wait till they can bounce around the house together.

Christmas, that is.

Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, we got out the Christmas tree, stockings, and all sorts of outdoor decorations, to begin decking the halls. We were curious to see how Sofia would do. And she loved it! She was very excited to see the tree, and was very interested in helping to decorate it - or at least a section of it about two feet wide and one foot tall. Below you can watch a condensed version of our fun time with Sofia. Although this is obviously faster than normal speed, it feels just like Sofia's normal speed. As you watch, you'll notice also how much Sofia loves the step stool - she couldn't get enough of that newly found "attractive nuisance."

Happy Thanksgiving!

This thanksgiving was great fun. Sofia had a wonderful time playing with the mayflower little people that nonnie had for her all set up when we arrived for lunch and it was fun to see her actually enjoying eating a Thanksgiving meal. For those of you who don't know, sofia is, well, quite the picky eater, so we really thought we were going to have to break out what we consider a major food group in our house, mac-n-cheese. Much to our surprise, she ate everything, turkey, stuffing, corn, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie...... Including mashed potatoes out of the big bowl, i guess they are better that way. Needless to say, i was quite impressed. Annabella got to have thanksgiving too, well at least at five month old version, cereal and a bottle, but she doesn't know the difference right now. Here are some pictures of the eventful day. Sofia playing, torturing nonnie's cat, and dancing to Christmas music at the end of the day when we helped nonnie put her tree up. Notice the toll her outfit took as the day went on. Enjoy! We certainly did!

Way to Recycle - Nana Would be Proud!

Nana bought this outfit for Sofia and she wore it at about 5 months. Now in true hand me down fashion, Annabella is sporting the same outfit, right down to the exact same shoes, and at five months. This having girls back to back thing is really working out in the clothes department (just not so much in the sanity department)! So thanks to Nana again for this "new" outfit, and adorable pictures.

Meet Minnie

Sofia has found her first obsession Minnie Mouse. She loves to watch her on TV with her second obsession Mickey and her third, Daisy. As you can see by the photos she likes to put minnie (and herself) in the same places her sister spends time. Sofia keeps me on my toes and always finds ways to crack me up!
